CORNWALL, P.E.I. — Chandler Laporte and Kyler Weeks scored a minute apart in the third period Tuesday as the North River Flames recorded a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over the Sherwood Metros.
The Metros held 2-1 and 4-3 period leads during the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League contest at the APM Centre in Cornwall.
Laporte tied it with 7:55 remaining and Weeks tallied the winner with 6:53 on the clock.
Weeks finished the night with two goals and an assist while Zac MacKay had a goal and two assists and Daniel Godfrey set up four markers.
Griffin Hughes and also scored while assists went to Drew Doiron, Alex McCarron and Patrick Wyand.
Remi Arsenault and Jarred Peroit each had a goal and an assist for the Metros while Tanner Gallant and Owen Matheson also scored. Nick Bowman, Nick Brown, Parker Cameron and Patrick Kenny each chipped in an assist.
Ryan Clory made 26 saves for the win while Devon Newberry stopped 30 shots in the loss.
Sherwood went 1-for-7 on the power play and killed all six of North River’s opportunities with the man advantage.
The Flames improved to 9-4-1 while the Metros are 3-13-0.
