Jordan Spence leads Val-d'Or Foreurs to QMJHL victory

Cornwall’s Jordan Spence scored twice, including the overtime winner, as the Val-d’Or Foreurs defeated the Drummondville Voltigeurs 3-2 Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) action.

Drummondville led 1-0 after the first period and took a 2-1 advantage to the third. Spence tied it midway through the third.

The blue-liner, who turned 20 on Feb. 24, has nine goals and 28 points in 23 game this season. He was acquired in a January trade that sent goalie Vincent Filion, the sixth overall pick in the 2020 QMJHL draft, to Moncton. The rebuilding Wildcats also received Val-d’Or’s first-round pick in 2023 and Drummondville’s fourth-round pick in 2022.

Val-d’Or (21-2-2-2) leads the 18-team league by percentage points over the Charlottetown Islanders (21-4-0-0).
