CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Affiliate player J.T. Wood’s second goal of the night two minutes into the third period was the winner Monday as the Georgetown TriCounty Insulfoam IceDogs defeated the Sherwood Metros 6-3 in Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action.

The Metros led 2-1 after the first and the teams were tied 3-3 heading to the third at Cody Banks Arena.

Cam White had a goal and an assist in the win while Alex MacEachern, Jacob MacEachern and captain Daniel Martell each had two assists.

Isaac Drake, Caden Kielly and Ryan MacDonald rounded out the scoring while Sammy Docherty, Michael Jenkins and Cole Mosher each chipped in an assist.

Isaac McCabe, Dylan Mugridge and Robbie Munro scored for the home side with assists going to Remi Arsenault, Nick Brown, Bret Cheverie, Matt Dunn, Jake Lafferty and goalie Zack Hughes.

Summer Pippy-Docherty made 39 saves for the win while Hughes faced 51 shots, including 27 in the final frame, in the loss.

Georgetown went 0-for-2 on the power play and didn’t take a penalty during the contest.

The league-leading IceDogs improved to 14-3-0 while the fourth-place Metros take a 3-12-0 record into Tuesday’s 7:30 p.m. game with the third-place North River Flames (8-4-1) at the APM Centre in Cornwall.
