SYDNEY, N.S. — Ethan MacInnis scored the game-winner at 3:36 of overtime to lead the Sydney Academy Wildcats to a 5-4 victory over the Glace Bay Panthers in Cape Breton High School Hockey League action on Wednesday.
Dante Basque scored twice in regulation time, while Alex Chenhall and Brenden Armstrong chipped in with goals for the Wildcats at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.
Tyle Clarke, Mitchell Hiscock, Jarrett Hicks and Connor MacIntyre answered with goals for the Panthers.
Daniel MacGillivray made 31 saves for Sydney Academy, while Owen Coombes turned aside 21 shots for Glace Bay.
In Cape Breton West High School Hockey League action, the Strait Area Education Recreation Saints blanked the Eskasoni Warriors 8-0 at the Dan K. Stevens Memorial Arena in Eskasoni.
Andre Gerroir and Brady White scored twice for the Saints, while Ben Madden, Brady MacNeil, Harrison MacFadyen and Andrew MacNeil added goals.
