P.E.I. loses 10-4 to Quebec at Brier

CALGARY, Alta. — P.E.I. dropped to 0-3 Sunday night at the Tim Hortons Brier after losing 10-4 to Quebec.
The Eddie MacKenize-skipped rink of third Tyler Smith, second Sean Ledgerwood, lead Ryan Lowery and alternate Aaron Bartling from Alberta has lost all three games in eight ends.
Sunday night, the Michael Fournier-skipped Quebec squad scored four in the third to take a 5-1 lead but P.E.I. responded with three of their own to cut the deficit to one.
Quebec scored a deuce in the fifth and then stole singles in each of the next three ends.
Quebec improved to 3-1.
P.E.I., representing the Crapaud and Montague curling clubs, plays the Greg Smith-skipped rink from Newfoundland and Labrador (0-4) tonight at 9:30 p.m.
Charlottetown’s Brett Gallant is Team Canada’s second while Seven Mile Bay native Adam Casey is Manitoba’s third. Manitoba has won their first two games while Canada is 2-1 after losing to Kevin Koe’s wildcard team 9-7 Sunday night.
Manitoba plays the Mike McEwen wildcard team (2-1) today at 4:30 p.m. while Canada plays Saskatchewan (2-1) at 9:30 p.m.
