Charlottetown’s Ava Boutilier was a finalist for the University of New Hampshire female performer of the year award.

The 20-year-old hockey goalie was one of the 10 nominees for the award, representing an athlete for different teams at the university. Anna Metzler of the swimming and diving team won the award, which was announced last week on YouTube during the university’s second annual senior showcase.

It is presented to the most outstanding female student-athlete for athletic achievement.

Boutilier had a sparkling sophomore season that included being named the national goaltender of the month in February.

She went 13-9-2 with a 1.75 goals-against average and a .942 save percentage on the season. It included six shutouts.
