SYDNEY, N.S. — The Sydney Mitsubishi Rush managed to save face amid a tough weekend for Cape Breton’s two Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League teams.

Landon Clark's two goals helped the Mitsubishi Rush edge the host Steele Subaru 4-3 on Saturday, but the Subaru bounced back to crush the Rush 5-1 on Sunday, with Jake Edwards potting Sydney’s lone power-play goal.

The Cape Breton West Islanders attempted a third-period rally with goals from Jacob Cook, Kevin Walker and Cody Van de Sande, but the host Kohltech Valley Wildcats took the game 4-3 on Saturday. Walker was also the lone goal-scorer for the West Islanders (7-9-0) but the Wildcats (11-7-0) held on to a 3-1 win on Sunday.
