On Saturday, the Laurentians won their season-opener with a 2-1 win at the Topsail pitch in C.B.S. Forsey got the winner for Big Blue at 59 minutes. Brent Hennebury opened scoring at eight minutes for St. Lawrence and Daniel Quinn had the only C.B.S. goal at 11 minutes.
Elsewhere Sunday, Braeden Sheppard and Jacob Dyer shared the shutout as Feildians blanked the league newest entry, Paradise, which made its Challenge Cup debut.
Greg Reid (20 minutes), Emmanuel Dolo (47) and Marek Nakonieczny (85) scored for the winners at King George V Park.
In the other game Saturday, Holy Cross and Mount Pearl played to a 1-1 draw in Mount Pearl. Owen Sheppard opened scoring at 60 minutes for Holy Cross, and Paul Holley replied three minutes later.
