Jubilee Trophy soccer: Can anyone score on Holy Cross, let alone beat the defending champs?

Crusaders make it five shutout victories in a row, the latest coming over the St. John's U17s

Holy Cross Avalon Ford’s high-scoring, stingy march through the early part of the Breen’s Jubilee Trophy soccer season continued Monday nighti at King George V Park, where the defending provincial women’s champions blanked the St. John’s Under-17s 6-0.

Holy Cross is 5-0 to start the season, scoring 38 goals in the process without allowing any.

Monday at KGV, the Crusaders got two goals from Julie Crocker and single tallies from Holly O’Neill, Teri Murphy, Kate Hickey and Jane Pope.

Jaime Crocker, Julie’s twin sister, and Hannah Noseworthy shared the shutout.

Pope’s goal gives her seven on the season, most in the league.
