The St. John’s Edge climbed back to the .500 mark (5-5) with a 118-98 win over the expansion Sudbury, Ont. Five in National Basketball League of Canada play Tuesday night in St. John’s.
At Mile One Centre before an announced crowd of 2,763, the Edge got scoring by committee to record their fourth straight win.
Dez Lee led the parade once again with 26 points, following a 31-point performance in a win over the Island Storm Sunday at Mile One. Maurice Jones scored 14 points and newcomer Obinna Okeka scored 11 and pulled down 16 rebounds. Junior Cadougan also had 11 points.
Keith Wright Jr. netted 10 with 11 boards. The Edge also got contribution off the bench with Diego Kapelan scoring 16 points and Jared Nickens netting 13. Glen Davis, another newcomer, chipped in with 10 points in 15 minutes of work.
Carl English had the night off.
The teams play again 7 o’clock Wednesday night at Mile One.
