Scott Goosney scattered seven hits in a complete-game performance, pitching the league-leading OMT Shamrocks to a 5-1 win over the Storm in St. John’s Molson senior baseball play Wednesday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park.
Goosney walked one batter while striking out eight to get the win over Storm starter Aaron Peach (7H, 5R, 2ER, 2W), who struck out a dozen, Isaac Doyle finished up with an inning of scoreless relief for the Storm.
Parker Gulliver had two hits and drove in two runs for the Shammies. The Storm’s Michael Clarke went three-for-three with a run scored and a stolen base.
Wednesday’s game saw Feildians pitcher Riley King (4IP, 1H, 1R, 0ER, 1W, 7K) and Ryan Harnett (1IP, 1K) combine on a one-hitter as the Double Blues clobbered the Knights 13-1 in a game shortened to five innings
Alex Walsh drove in three runs on three singles for Feildians, while Aaron Flood, Ryan Harnett and Daniel Hearn each had two hits for the winners. Matt Sullivan had the Knights’ lone hits, a double, and scored his team’s only run.
