ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Children, Seniors and Social Development Minister Lisa Dempster has announced Team Newfoundland and Labrador’s mission staff for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Chef de mission Karen Sheffiffs of St. John’s will lead the 15-member group, along with assistant chefs de mission Frank Humber of Corner Brook and Gary Martin of Mount Pearl.

Mission staff are Melissa Blackler, Twillingate; David Coates, Conception Bay South; Edward Flood, Corner Brook; Ian Flynn, Bay Roberts; Tom Godden, St. John’s; Robert Goulding, Grand Falls-Windsor; Brenda Greene, Happy Valley-Goose Bay; Denise Payne, Corner Brook; Jill Russell-Monk, Clarenville; Rosemary Ryan, Kippens; Allison Sturge, St. John’s; and H.G. (Hank) Summers, St. John’s.

“The members of the mission staff for Team Newfoundland and Labrador attending the 2019 Canada Winter Games have a wealth of experience and are dedicated to leading our province’s top athletes as they compete at Canada’s premiere multi-sport games,” Dempster said in a release June 18.

The 2019 Canada Winter Games will take place from Feb. 15 to March 3 in Red Deer, Alta.

Team Newfoundland and Labrador will be represented by some 250 athletes, coaches, and managers at the Games.
