Mark Greene and Julia Howard won the 10K event, while David Freake and Jennifer Murrin were the half-marathon winners during the Uniformed Services Races held in St. John’s Sunday morning.
Greene covered the 10K course in a time of 34:20, while Howard was the fifth overall finisher in 37:08. In the half-marathon, Freake stopped the clock in 1:12.37 and Murrin crossed the finish line in 1:17.37, good for fourth place overall.
In the 10K race, Nick Snow was second in 34:33, followed by Peter Power (35:50) and Kyle MacLeod (36:12). Mark Richards was the fifth male in 37:12.
Sarah Molloy was second to Howard in 40:52 followed by Margo Soucy (44:40), Miki Lee (44:53) and Jodi Card (45:43).
There were 119 finishers in the 10K race.
Zach Putt placed second to Freake in the half-marathon, finishing in 1:16.36. Ian Royle was third (1:17.19), Ryan Brown was fifth overall (1:17.53) followed by Peter Bazeley (1:18.28). Anne Johnston was just behind Murrin, and seventh overall, in 1:19.45. Janelle Simmons was third in 1:28.24 followed by Melanie Van Soeren (1:32.09) and Joanne Budgell (1:39.57).
The half-marathon saw 71 finishers.
