Avalon Minor Football, a not-for-profit youth football league in St. John’s and part of Football NL, is staging a youth football camp this weekend in Paradise in conjunction with St. Francis Xavier University.
The camp, which runs today from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Paradise Recreation Centre, features St. FX Atlantic University Sport football coach Gary Waterman, X-Men offensive coordinator Dave VandenHeuvel, St. FX running back Jordan Socholotiuk and X-Men linebacker Ben Von Meuhldorfer.
Also taking part is St. FX director of football operations Brian Hughes. Hughes is a former president of Football NL.
