ST JOHN'S: Texas low brings us snow

This weather set-up is fascinating: an arctic high and a Texas Low are playing cat and mouse. The cold high is anchored over Labrador and on the western edge of that high, there’s an incoming area of low pressure. Cold air is heavy and hard to move so the high will create a blocking pattern- keeping the maximum energy over the Maritime provinces. We could see a few flurries float by, especially along the south coast area late Thursday but overall it remains bright and cold right through the weekend. Having said that, it appears the next one won’t miss us. I’m watching another developing system that could bring as much as 15 to 20 cm of snow on Monday!
