CINDY'S SNAPSHOT: Once in our life-time

Once in our life-time

Last night, Barry Burgess patiently waited for Comet NEOWISE to make an appearance. His patience was rewarded and he snapped this incredible photo in Sunbury County New Brunswick. Barry says the comet was at its peak last night - with the blue ion tail visible.
Look for NEOWISE in the NW sky after sunset, until about mid-August. After that, astronomers expect Comet NEOWISE to bid farewell for quite some time. Its long, looping orbit around our star will bring it back to Earth's vicinity in approximately 6,800 years.
