The groundhog may have predicted six more weeks of winter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while we wait for spring.
Across Atlantic Canada, there are a number of exciting winter festivals being held to get you out of the house and into the fresh winter air.
Enjoy winter wonders at Charlottetown’s Jack Frost Festival, taking place Feb. 14-17 in Downtown Charlottetown. With a snow kingdom, an indoor playland, and a warm-up zone, the Jack Frost Festival truly has something for everyone. You still have time to catch some of Mount Pearl’s Frosty Festival, running until Feb. 16! Since 1983, the Frosty Festival has been entertaining folks of all ages with great events like sno-ga outdoor yoga, family skating, a bowling tournament, and a variety show, just to name a few. If you’re lucky enough to make your way to this fun-filled week of events, you won’t regret it.
Make the most of your long weekend at Sackville Snow Days, happening Feb. 14-17 in Sackville, Nova Scotia. Kicking off with a kids’ costume party, Sackville Snow Days is home to events such as “Are You Smarter Than a Senior?”, a winter play day, and a chili taste-off that’s sure to set your taste buds on fire. The event wraps up with the Snow Days parade and closing party where lots of treats, prizes, and Snow Days awards will be shared.
