When it comes to the weather, it's all about location.
On Monday, a strong high-pressure system over northern Quebec gave us sunshine, but with a chilly north wind and unseasonably cool temperatures. By Thursday, that same weather system was over Bermuda and a wind direction change finally brought us some heat. Back to the cold north wind for a moment - literally.
Our mild breeze is slowly veering to the north again, behind a cold front that's pushing down across the region. The change of air mass is going to be significant with as much as a 13-degree temperature swing for many of us.
We will, however, hang on to our sunshine. Another high-pressure system is going to set up in the wake of the cold front and while you'll need a jacket tomorrow, you'll also be reaching for your sunglasses. If you've been in the garden or the flower beds, don't count on Mother Nature to help with the watering. Once the front moves through, I don't see any rain on the horizon until late Tuesday into Wednesday.
